About me

Hey, I am Jeanne or Ma Doula. My path as a Doula began during my psychology training a few years ago. I felt deeply drawn to exploring and making sense of the perinatal period and helping women navigate the challenges associated with childbirth and motherhood.

Born and raised overseas, I know how hard it can be to start from scratch, build a family away from your own, and create a village to support you throughout your motherhood journey. It is scary. Like many, I have experienced anxiety about not being familiar with the hospital and maternity system, and feeling isolated.

As your doula, I will aim to provide you with a sense of safety, connection and control throughout your pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I will support you in feeling confident and at peace with your choices.

Yes, I am fascinated by and highly value physiological birth. However, I do not stand for natural birth as the "gold standard" of all births. I believe in women's rights to choose freely how they want to birth, without coercion or violence.

My loved ones often tell me that I have a calming and grounding presence. I am also curious and I love to connect with people over real conversations. When I am not working, you will find me strolling along the Yarra River, listening to a podcast about birth or parenthood. I am also an avid reader andI love a good Pilates session.

If you feel like I could be the right doula for you, have a look at my services, and get in touch!
